Day 1: Arrival & Marrakech Sightseeing

Your tour begins with a warm welcome in Marrakech, where your guide will introduce you to the wonders of the red city. The day is devoted to exploring the city’s top historical and cultural sites. You’ll visit the magnificent Koutoubia Mosque, stroll through the lush Majorelle Garden, and admire the intricate details of the Bahia Palace and El Badi Palace.

Next, wander through the vibrant souks of the Medina, filled with colorful textiles, spices, pottery, and traditional crafts. Afterward, relax in your traditional riad with a delicious Moroccan dinner and prepare for the desert adventure ahead.

Day 2: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

After breakfast, we begin our scenic journey towards southern Morocco, crossing the dramatic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass. Along the way, you’ll marvel at Berber villages clinging to mountain slopes and enjoy panoramic views of the valleys below. Our first major stop is at the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s most iconic ksars. You’ll explore this historic mudbrick village and learn how it became a backdrop for Hollywood films.

From Ait Ben Haddou, we head to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa,” home to famous movie studios and desert fortresses. After a short stop, we continue through the Valley of Roses and the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs before arriving in the Dades Valley, famous for its dramatic rock formations and natural beauty. Overnight stay in a comfortable guesthouse or hotel with dinner included.

Day 3: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga Desert Camp

We continue the journey through spectacular landscapes, heading first to the Todra Gorges, a stunning canyon carved by the Todra River with vertical walls over 300 meters high. Take a walk along the gorge floor or enjoy a mint tea in a local café before driving through desert towns like Tinjdad and Erfoud, known for fossils and traditional crafts.

By late afternoon, we reach the golden dunes of Merzouga, where your camel trekking adventure begins. You’ll ride across the towering Erg Chebbi dunes just as the sun starts to set — an unforgettable experience. Upon arrival at the desert camp, enjoy tea, a traditional dinner, Berber music under the stars, and spend the night in a comfortable tent in the middle of the Sahara Desert.

Day 4: Full Day in Merzouga – Nomads, Khamlia & Desert Oases

After watching a magnificent sunrise over the dunes, enjoy breakfast at the camp before heading out to explore the desert’s cultural and natural treasures. Start with a visit to Khamlia village, where you’ll be treated to a live performance of Gnawa music, a spiritual African rhythm passed down through generations.

We’ll then drive through rocky desert tracks to meet nomadic families living in traditional tents. Learn about their lifestyle, hospitality, and resilience. Later, visit desert oases and fossil sites around Taouz and Mifis. You’ll return to Merzouga village in the afternoon, where you can enjoy a relaxed evening at a hotel or riad with dinner and time to reflect on your Saharan journey.

Day 5: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Ifrane – Fes

We begin the scenic drive north through the Ziz Valley, one of Morocco’s longest palm-filled valleys. You’ll pass adobe villages and wide canyons, stopping for photos along the way. Our journey continues to Midelt, located at the foot of the Middle Atlas Mountains, where we stop for lunch and enjoy the cooler climate.

Next, travel through the cedar forests of Azrou, home to wild Barbary macaques, and then make a short stop in Ifrane, a picturesque alpine town with clean streets and European-style houses. Often called the “Switzerland of Morocco,” it offers a complete contrast to the desert. By late afternoon, we arrive in Fes, where you’ll check into your riad for a relaxing evening.

Day 6: Fes Sightseeing – Chefchaouen – Tangier

After breakfast, you’ll begin a morning guided tour of Fes, Morocco’s oldest imperial city and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Explore the medina of Fes el-Bali, full of narrow alleys, colorful souks, and historic sites. Highlights include the Al Quaraouiyine University, Bou Inania Madrasa, Chouara Tannery, and the Royal Palace gates. You’ll get a sense of the spiritual and intellectual soul of Morocco here.

In the afternoon, we begin our drive through the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen, the magical blue city.
