Itinerary
Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert
We begin early from Fes, driving south through the Middle Atlas Mountains. Your first stop will be in Ifrane, often nicknamed the Switzerland of Morocco, for its alpine charm. Then we continue through Azrou’s cedar forests, where you may encounter playful Barbary macaques.
After passing the city of Midelt, known for its apple orchards, we cross the Tizi-n-Talghamt Pass and follow the Ziz Valley, lined with thousands of date palms and traditional kasbahs. We’ll stop for photos and lunch along the way before continuing to Erfoud, famous for fossils and dates.
In the late afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga, where the camel caravan awaits. You’ll ride through the dunes of Erg Chebbi just in time to catch the spectacular desert sunset. Day 2: Merzouga – Erfoud – Midelt – Ifrane – Fes
